Alan Kirby

ChFC®, EA, CRC®, CFS™

Certified Tax Specialist (CTS™), Certified Estate & Trust Specialist (CES™)

Alan Kirby began his career in the financial industry in 1992.  After his undergraduate work at Tennessee Technological University, Alan has continued to study updated, advanced planning strategies and techniques through The American College of Financial Services earning his ChFC® designation among others from the Institute of Business and Finance, The Wealth Preservation Institute and The Heartland Institute of Financial Education.  He is also an IRS Enrolled Agent.

Because of our nation’s financial distress, Alan is very concerned about the destructive impact rising taxes could have on retirees.  He believes it is imperative for retirees and pre-retirees to include a tax-smart approach in their future planning.  As both a financial planner and a tax professional, Alan brings a valuable approach often missing in traditional retirement planning.

A lifelong resident of Tennessee, Alan has been a musician for over thirty years and enjoys technology, history racquetball and spending time with his family.  Alan has been married to his beloved wife Kimberly for over 30 years.  Their son is in the Air Force and their daughter is an economics instructor at the University of Missouri.

Michael Cooley

ChFC®, Financial Planner / Advisor

Michael has been in the financial services industry since 2019. After spending two decades in the construction industry advancing through the years into project/production management, he made the decision to complete his BBA degree with the University of Memphis in 2017, and enter the Financial/Retirement Planning industry. He has since gone on to pursue higher education in Financial Planning through the University of Georgia, as well as The American College of Financial Services, where he earned the ChFC® designation in 2023. Michael has also kept pace with the markets and is versed in market analysis and trends through both fundamental and technical analysis techniques. As such, he understands the volatility of the markets and how temperamental they can be, and has thus sought to become well versed in products and strategies that help to alleviate client dependance on the typical “wall street” models and strategies so prevalent in today’s marketplace. He understands that a wealth preservation plan, as well as realistic tax-planning, are just as important as wealth accumulation and distribution strategies across the investment horizon. This makes him a great fit for the RidgeBrooke team and philosophy!

Michael, too, is a life-long musician, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, and has even played professionally in churches and in a well-known Pigeon Forge Theater show! He is the proud father of two lovely daughters, one of which still resides in the Knoxville/Oak Ridge area
