    Who We Are

RidgeBrooke Retirement Planning, LLC  was founded by Alan Kirby.  Alan understands the bias and conflicts of interest that are determined by how a financial representative is licensed.  He spent 10 years in the financial services industry before starting RidgeBrooke Retirement Planning. Alan witnessed the common conflicts of interest in the financial services industry and chose a different path from the majority of financial representatives.  He wanted to form a completely different kind of relationship with his clients that would create comfort and confidence for each client.

Here is another way to understand our philosophy:

If you were going down the street shopping for food and you stopped in the butcher’s shop, you would be presented with some very good cuts of meat and the butcher would explain all the positive benefits of consuming meat because that is what the butcher sells. As you continue down the street to the produce stand, you would likely find someone who could give you all the positive benefits of consuming primarily fruits and vegetables; you might even be encouraged to become a vegetarian because that is what the produce stand sells. A nutritionist (that’s us), on the other hand, would seek a more balanced approach and that balance might be customized differently for each person. This is why we believe that having the right advisor to client relationship is the most important part of your financial plan.

Having the right advisor relationship solves two distinct issues:

The financial services industry has different groups of representatives who are “at war” (philosophically) with one another.  Representatives who are only licensed to sell insurance and annuity products are often trained to describe the “evils” of “gambling” in the market and may attempt to steer you toward their options such as fixed annuities or other insurance products. You might be asked to “follow the green line” from misleading charts and graphs.    It is not surprising they will find ways to promote the only products they can offer.   In contrast, representatives who work for brokerage firms will offer many arguments as to why their market-based approach is superior. This can create confusion for the general public who is left to decide which side of this feud is telling the truth.

At RidgeBrooke we are able to offer market based and insurance strategies. For information about RidgeBrooke Capital Management, contact us at 877-811-4325.  At RidgeBrooke, our client-centered approach removes this conflict and allows each client to have his/her own comfortable mix of risk and safety. It is our belief that a good advisor should craft a good plan around each client’s risk tolerance instead of attempting to change the client’s views to match the advisor’s plan.   This is another way we keep clients first.
